Do You Need a Covid Test to Enter Bali in 2024?

The allure of Bali, with its stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and delicious food, remains strong. But with the ever-changing travel restrictions, it’s wise to check the entry requirements before booking your flights.

The good news for travelers is that a Covid test is no longer mandatory to enter Bali as of June 9th, 2023. This applies to both domestic and international travelers.

Previously, visitors needed to present a negative PCR test or antigen test depending on their vaccination status.

What to Remember When Traveling to Bali

While a Covid test is no longer required, here are some things to keep in mind for a smooth trip to Bali:

  • Visa: You might need a visa depending on your nationality and the length of your stay. Check if a B211A E-Visa or Visa on Arrival applies to you.
  • Bali Arrival Fee: As of February 14, 2024, all travelers are subject to a Bali Arrival fee of 150,000 IDR (approximately 10USD).
  • Airline Requirements: Even though Indonesia lifted the testing mandate, some airlines may have their own Covid testing requirements. It’s always best to double-check with your airline before departure.
  • Health Insurance: Though not mandatory, having travel health insurance with Covid-19 coverage is advisable.

Staying Safe and Responsible

While restrictions have eased, the pandemic is not over. Here’s how you can contribute to a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone:

  • Be a mindful traveler: Respect local customs and social distancing guidelines.
  • Practice good hygiene: Wash your hands frequently and wear a mask in crowded places, especially if you’re feeling unwell.
  • Get vaccinated (recommended): While not mandatory for entry, being fully vaccinated against Covid-19 offers additional protection for yourself and others.

So, pack your bags, grab your swimsuit, and get ready to experience the magic of Bali! But remember to stay informed about any updates to travel regulations before your trip.
